1st North American Cup Xiangqi Tournament

• 1. Main Organizer: Western Canada Xiangqi Association
  
• 2. Associate Organizers: Vancouver Chinese Chess Association, Richmond Chinese Chess Association, Richmond Public Market
  
• 3. Time and Venue: April 28th to 30th, 2006; Richmond Public Market, Richmond B.C.
  
• 4. System and Format:
  a. Rules: Official “Xiangqi Rules” published by World Xiangqi Federation (Identical to “Asian Xiangqi Rules”) will be officiated.
  b. Scoring system: A 9-round “Swiss System” will be adopted.
  c. Time limit: 40 minutes of free time to start; then at least 10 moves within 10 minutes (once); finally at least 10 moves within 5 minutes til the end of a game. Number of moves will not be accumulated.
  
• 5. Application:
  a. Players can apply through their local xiangqi association or fax/e-mail directly.

  c. Number of participants is limited. Application will be on a “first-come first-serve” basis.
  
• 6. Reward: Players finishing in the top 8 positions will be rewarded with trophies and medals.
  
• 7. Reception:
  a. Participants are responsible for their own transportation expenses to and from Vancouver.
  b. The organizers will cover the accommodations and transportations of 3 representatives (1 leader and 2 players) from each association during the tournament.
  c. Any extra member is responsible for all his/her own expenses.
