The 3rd Asian Indoor Games 2009, Xiangqi men's team wins gold for China.


On the evening of November 5th, the medal ceremony of men's Xiangqi team took place. There are 24 players from six competing nations: China, Japan, Cambodia, Hong Kong-China, Vietnam and Macau-China. Throughout the competition, the Chinese team played convincingly and strongle with world champions such as Xi Yin Chuan and Wang Bin. China won the gold medal and the second place went to Vietnam team and the third place to Hong Kong-China.

The result of 13th Asian Xiangqi Individual Championships


The championships ended shortly after noon. Pan ZhenBo defeated Zhao GuoRong to claim the Men's Champion title. In the women campus, Chen LiChun had a perfect score of six wins to mount the Champion throne.Closing and prize-giving ceremony will be held on 7 Dec at 1900 hr at the Karo Room, Hotel Soechi. 13th Asian Xiangqi Individual Championships, Medan


The Indonesian Chinese Chess Association is hosting this event from 2nd to 8th December 2007, at the Hotel Soechi, Medan. 25 xiangqi experts (18 male, 7 female) will be contesting for the two Champion titles.

Medan, a flourishing port town, is the gateway to Sumatra, Indonesia. The beautiful Lake Toba, and the Batak buildings and culture in this area have attracted tourists from all over the world.

Thanh Bao finishes third in Macau

Nguyen Thanh Bao finished third at the world Chinese Chess Championship, which ended in Macau on Sunday.

Thanh Bao failed to upset Hong Zhi from China in the final game and finished third after China's leader Xu Yin Chuan, who beat fellow Vietnamese Nguyen Vu Quan in the final round.

Quan finished third in the 2005 contest.

The China team finished top of the leader board, ahead of Vietnam in second.
